Strategy

In competitive games, Mekansm is a common build on many carry and support heroes such as Nature`s Prophet, Windrunner, and Enigma. It is also common to see on Intelligence carries such as Outworld Destroyer and Silencer because of Mekansm`s ability to fill the need for midgame regeneration and survivability for a mana cost their mana pools can easily accommodate for. In any game sometimes a support will get it because it is just that useful, but because a support hero`s income is usually not as high as its teammates, the Mekansm timing will be much slower as a result.

Tips

  • If the player drops items which provides a large amount of health (e.g. Vanguard or Eye of Skadi), then uses Mekansm, and then picks up the dropped items again, the player will overall heal for more than 250 health. This is because upon dropping the health granting items, the player`s maximum health drops while the current health percentage stays the same, but Mekansm still heals for the full amount. After picking up the items again, its maximum health raises, and its current health percentage stays the same.

Mekansm (also known as Mek) is an Upgrade Item purchasable from the Support section in the Home Shop. It is a common support item used to help teams last longer during ganks, pushes, and team fights because of its powerful healing ability along with its good regeneration and armor aura. As such, it is considered one of the most cost efficient items in the game.
